You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the PDF  

Step 1.

Bring a digital photo into a vector-based drawing program (such as Adobe Illustrator or Sodipodi). Adobe Illustrator can import the majority of file formats. Sodipodi can only import bitmap (.bmp) format. These example illustrations are done with Adobe Illustrator.

Step 2.

Use the pen tool to trace the image as line art. Select the stroke color as “black” and the fill color as “none.”

Step 3.

When tracing, leave out any unnecessary elements, e.g. the cabinets and wall tile in the background have been left out.

Step 4.

Add color to the line art using the paint bucket tool and the fill color palette.

Step 5.

To save a file into an SVG format go to File>Export. In the "Save as type" window choose SVG. If you are using Sodipodi you can only save the file as SVG.
